The Tool room has been setup by Department of Industries, Government of Jharkhand and is registered under Society Registration Act, 1860. The institute is governed by the Governing Council having the members VC, BIT Mesra, Ranchi, Director NIFT, Ranchi, CMD CMPDI, CMD HEC, Ranchi, CMD CCL, Director, Plant Head, TATA Motors, Jamshedpur, Director MSME DI, Ranchi, President JSIA, SLBC, etc. The Chairman of the centre is Secretary, Industries, Government of Jharkhand and Vice Chairman is Director of Industries, Govt. of Jharkhand. The centre has comprehensive range of machine tools having the latest controls, procured from the global market including CAD and sophisticated CNC machines, ultra modern class rooms with latest teaching aids, hostel facilities separately for boys and girls, canteen, recreatio playgrounds etc..
